| Description |
English: The Elwood Bar, 300 East Adams Avenue at Brush Street, Detroit, Michigan, December 2020. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an excellent example of Art Moderne style architecture, the Elwood Bar's façade is sided with enameled steel ornamented with chrome trim, sports a round, stubby corner tower with blue stripes and geometric ornamentation, and retains its original neon signage. The building was moved to its present location in 1997 to make way for Comerica Park, and remains renowned for its hamburgers. In the distance along Adams Street at right rise, from left to right: the Walker-Cisler Building (part of the DTE Energy complex, built 1971), Grand Park Centre (1922), and in front of it the Fyfe Building (1919). |
