Description
English: Empty cigarette box that once held 10 small cigarettes; original foil wrapping still inside. "Old Mill" brand, marketed by the Pinkerton Tobacco Company. Blue tobacco tax stamp still partially intact on front of packet. Some Old Mill cigarettes were sold with tiny silk rectangles of sports figures, actresses, and other images that could be sewn together to create a silk pillow cover. This marketing device was to enlist the non-smoking wives of smokers in persuading their husbands to purchase the Old Mill brand.
