Français : Encroutement algal et/ou bactérien en croissance sur un morceau de fil de pêche cassé, emmêlé et abandonné sur le fond de la rivière "Sèvre niortaise", dans une partie peu profonde et très bien éclairée.
Photo faite en août 2016 en amont du pont romain d'Azay-le-Brûlé (France). L'encroutement s'est fait très facilement sur le fil de nylon (jusqu'à plus environ 2 cm d'épaisseur par endroit) et il y adhère bien, alors que les quelques plombs de pêche encore présents sur le fil en sont entièrement préservés en raison de l'extrême toxicité du plomb pour ces organismes. Divers invertébrés, dont des gammares semblent se nourrir sur la surface de l'encroutement et se protéger dans les cavités encore importantes, mais qui finiront par se colmater. Cette section du cours d'eau est riche en zones d'encroutement. Dans ce cours d'eau, selon mes observations, les encroutements les plus denses et importants apparaissent cependant plus généralement sur des tapis de mousses aquatiques (bryophytes) ou de Marchantiophyta.Français : Crust made by crustose algae or/and bacterial community growing on a piece of broken fishing line, tangled and abandoned on the bottom of the river "Sèvre Niortaise" in some shallow and very well lighted place.
Photo made in August 2016 ahead of the Roman bridge of Azay-le-Brûlé (France). Crusting was done very easily on nylon thread (up over 2 cm thick in some places) and it adheres well, while some fishing weights still on the wire are fully preserved because of the extreme toxicity of lead for these organisms. Various invertebrates, including gammares seem to feed on the surface crusting and protect themselves in important cavities yet existing, but that will eventually clog. This section of the river is rich in crusting areas. In this stream, according to my observations, the denser and more important, crusts are however mostly on carpets of aquatic mosses (bryophytes) or of Marchantiophyta. |
