Description

Engraved bookplate with the arms of the Boyle family surmounted by an earl's coronet. Members of the Boyle family were Earls of Cork, Earls of Orrery, and Earls of Burlington. The earldoms of Cork and Orrery were united in 1753 when John Boyle, 5th Earl of Orrery, succeeded his third cousin as 5th Earl of Cork.
