English: On Cystine Lactose Electrolyte Deficient (CLED) agar, colonies of Enterobacter aerogenes typically exhibit pink to red in color but the color may vary slightly depending on factors such as the specific strain and growth conditions, round with a slightly irregular or undulate (wavy) margin, a smooth or slightly mucoid texture, generally moderate to large in size, opaque, lactose fermenter, which means it can utilize lactose as a carbon source. This fermentation process may contribute to the pink/red color of the colonies on CLED agar.
