Description
English: Entrance to Clearwell Castle Clearwell Castle, not open to the public, can be visited by appointment. Built on the site of a Tudor manor house in 1727 by the Wyndham family, the Gothic style ‘castle’, with its battlements and imposing gateway constructed from local stone, now dominates the village and is a popular wedding venue. The building was first known as Clearwell Court, changed to Castle in 1908.
