| Description |
English: Entrance to The Terrace, Omagh. The original mosaic floor has been retained at the entrance porch to this modern public house 887633, giving a clue as to its former owner and name T.O'Kane. The history behind this is that when the mosaic floors to the front entrance of the Sacred Heart 811574 were being laid, Mr O'Kane got them to do this. Not too sure about the exact date, whether it was when the original floors were first laid, or when repairs were carried out in the 1950's, but I am told that the Italian craftsmen stayed in local digs and may have laid similar mosaic floors as a favour for some people in surrounding houses. This public house was previously called The Elbow. |
