Summary edit

Description
English: The giant house spider aka Eratigena atrica (was previously named Tegenaria atrica, Tegenaria duellica, Tegenaria gigantea and Tegenaria saeva, all thought to be different species) is one of the biggest domestic spiders of Central and Northern Europe. The two sexes do not differ in coloration (dark brown with lighter spots on their opisthosoma). The female body size can reach 18.5 mm in length, with males only 12 to 15 mm. It can be found in Europe, Central Asia, Northern Africa and the Pacific Northwest of North America. Its original habitat consists mostly of caves and forests, but it is a common spider in people's homes. This is, probably, a male (14 mm), it was caught and documented in Moscow.
