Description
English: Sulphur-flower buckwheat growing in a post-fire setting at the southeast end of the Bridger Range, Gallatin County, Montana. This site burned early September 2020. Photo taken July 2023. An abundance and diversity of perennial cespitose forbs is an indicator of infrequent disturbance regimes. This variety is distinguished by its pale yellow or cream colored flowers, leaves that are green and glabrous above and white and lanate hairy on the lower surface, and mat-forming growth habit. The flowers comprise glabrous tepals that narrow to a pedicel-like base.
