Description

Hubo varias ermitas dedicadas a San Antonio Abad en diferentes lugares del extraradio de Madrid. Debido a su gran popularidad fue conocido también como San Antonio Abad o simplemente San Antón (denominado también como "santo viejo")

Las dos ermitas gemelas, son similares, que desde 1929 se han especializado, una esta de la foto, ofrece al público las decoraciones murales obra de Francisco de Goya (siendo además museo y panteón del pintor), mientras que la otra que es identica, está habilitada sólo para el culto religioso Fue declarada monumento nacional en 1905.

La Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando es la encargada del su cuidado , en la que se celebra misa los días 30 de marzo y 16 de abril, fechas del nacimiento y muerte de Francisco de Goya y Lucientes.
