This version of the photo traces back to the 12 September 1910 issue of Athletic News, which includes a credit to "Starfield & Co.", a Liverpool-based photography studio that went out of business around 1930. Since the contemporaneous credit is to the company, not an individual, and because the company is long defunct, it cannot be determined who the actual photographer was and it should be treated as an unknown author.
