Object type painting

Description
This painting is attributed to Ernst Meyer on the frame. A note on the verso says Studiehoved til Billede på Thorvaldsens Museum. Auktion efter Grosserer M. Zacho 1890 (Study for paintings at Thorvaldsen's Museum. Auction of the estate of the merchant M. Zacho in 1890). The girl matches Meyer's painting of the reading of a letter by a letter-writer. Meyer revisited the girl and the letter-writer a couple of times. There is the original version at Thorvaldsen's museum (where the girl has no necklace), another version at Glyptoteket and an 1832 version at Museumsberg in Flensburg where she is wearing the red necklace.
