Description Étienne Marcel fue preboste de los mercaderes de París, es decir, jefe del gobierno de la ciudad. Se opuso en su momento al poder del delfín Carlos, pero murió asesinado por los propios parisinos el 31 de julio de 1358, quienes temían que entregara la ciudad a los ingleses.
