Português: Região sudeste do Lago Tana, maior da Etiópia. A 1840 m de altitude, e com 86 x 66 km, é a origem do Rio Nilo Azul. Em verde claro superfície da água eutrofizada. Em laranja culturas agrícolas nessa região densamente povoada por seus solos férteis. Em verde escuro floresta afromontana seca, em marrom savana. Nas ilhas do lago existem vários monastérios cristãos seculares. Como na pequena ilha Tana Cherqos, no centro do lado direito da imagem, onde, segunda a tradição, estaria enterrado São Frumêncio, que trouxe o cristianismo para o país no Século IV / Southeast region of Tana Lake, largest in Ethiopia. At 6,000 ft, with 53 x 41 mi, it is Blue Nilo´s River. Eutrophic lake water surface appears in green shades. Crops, at this densely populated region fot its fertile soils, appear as an orange patchwork. Dry evergreen afromontane forest, in dark green and savannas in brown. There are several centuries-old Christian monasteries. As in the small island Tana Cherqos, at image right side center, where, according to tradition, Saint Frumentius, who brought Christianity to the country in the 4th century, is buried.
