The Summer Solstice is a great holiday in the Wheel of the Year, a celebration of Light and Life. On the shortest night of the year, dreams and reality mix with each other. Therefore, festivities and games were organized around them, they danced round dances. According to pagan traditions, by jumping over a fire, people were "cleansed" of negative energy and diseases, protecting themselves from damage and the evil eye. A characteristic tradition was pair jumping through the fire of girls and boys holding hands. "Jumping over a fire had its own magical meaning: it was believed that in this way a person could cleanse his fate, get rid of the evil eye, evil spirits and ailments_2: 06.07 ♦ Walking on hot coals is the next part of the holiday. This is a moment of purification or, rather, even hardening of the spirit.
