Français : 'Maleck-Adhel attendant Mathilde au tombeau de Josselin de Montmorency'. La scène est inspirée du roman de Sophie Cottin, Mathilde ou Mémoires tirés de l’histoire des croisades (1805). Mathilde d’Angleterre a demandé à son frère, le roi Richard Cœur de Lion, la clé du mausolée de Josselin de Montmorency pour y rencontrer son amant, Maleck-Adhel, frère de Saladin. On voit ici Maleck-Adhel, vêtu à la mode orientale, attendre Mathilde dans le mausolée sombre, accoudé sur le tombeau.
