Summary edit

Description
English: The illuminated manuscript of the Gospel of Rabbula depicting the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, probably compiled in 586, is the only illuminated manuscript of early Christian Syria that survived to this day. Is preserved in the Laurentian Medici Library, Florence. From the eleventh century, the document was preserved by the Maronite patriarchs of Antioch, who in the late fifteenth century gave it to the Medici family of Florence.
