Description |
Bodice for evening gown: Pale green brocade satin with bouffant 3/4 sleeves. Sleeves trimmed with white beadwork. Square plunging neckline with collar trimmed with white beadwork. Eight jeweled buttons up front opening. Pointed at front and back bottom. Lined with unbleached muslin, stays. Skirt for evening gown, pale green: satin panel down center front which is covered with beadwork on net. Rest of skirt is satin brocade. Box pleated satin dust ruffle. Train; bustle. Pleats taken at back opening at waistline for full skirt back. Made for Mrs. Wilbur Wheeler Fish about 1875. Cost $270 at time. Believed to have been made by Worth of Paris, France. |
