Description
English: View north towards platform 1 of Alnwick Lionheart station on the Aln Valley Railway. Ex-Northern Trains Class 144 "Pacer" 144004 stands at the platform, waiting to depart on a round-trip to Greenrigg Halt (though, at the time of visit, this latter station was still under construction). This is one of two BR Class 144 preserved at the Aln Valley Railway after their withdrawal from main line service in 2020.
To the left of the unit can be seen the grounded NER coach body used as a waiting shelter and station masster's office at the time of visiting. To the right can be seen various stored equipment and the station's water town and coal store. in the background are visible the station footbridge (centre) and Lionheart signal box (right).
