English: Presentation which demonstrates that Bitcoin does scale afterall for the Bitcoin Munich Meetup ( ) We review some of the technical details of the current protocol definition for payment channels within the Lightning Network protocol, and look at the concept of hashed time locked contracts to add routing to the network of payment channels. It will be emphasized how the LN, even though being an overlay layer for blockchain technologies, is just a creative use of the Bitcoin protocol. Finally an outlook and conceptual idea about the future features like Atomic Multipath Routing, Splicing, Watchtowers and Atomic Swaps to be included in Basics Of Lightning Technologies 1.1. (BOLT 1.1) will be given.
