It will be emphasized how the LN, even though being an overlay layer for blockchain technologies, is just a creative use of the Bitcoin protocol. Finally an outlook and conceptual idea about the future features like Atomic Multipath Routing, Splicing, Watchtowers and Atomic Swaps to be included in Basics Of Lightning Technologies 1.1. (BOLT 1.1) will be given.
