English: Excavations, former Horsforth Sewage Works Somebody has dug several holes in this area of low walls. They may be test holes to evaluate the ground for building purposes.
At the time this photo was taken, the owner was KeyLand Developments, a sister company of Yorkshire Water, who wanted to develop the site. The area was incorporated into the Newlay Conservation Area in November 2008, and sold to Delap Developers (IOM) in 2009. In September 2009, the site was stripped of its trees. This is now the subject of likely prosecution as all trees in conservation areas are protected. Thanks to Martin Hughes, Secretary of the Newlay Conservation Society who provided the information about the site's recent history. |
