Description
English: Soldiers from the British Army attempt to flank the enemy by running up a track with cover provided by the trees and other members of the section during Exercise Vigilant Fox in Finland. EXERCISE VIGILANT FOX is a force-on-force readiness training exercise at Niinisalo in western Finland. The exercise is intended to test the preparedness of Finland’s High Readiness Brigades whilst enhancing interoperability between Finland, UK, and US forces.Units involved in the exercise include C Company (C COY) 2nd Battalion The Rifles (2 Rifles) of the UK’s Agile Task Force usually deployed in Estonia, the Jaeger Guard Regiment (FIN), Pori Brigade (FIN) and Karelian Brigade (FIN) and a Coy of US Cavalry using the Bradley tracked fighting vehicle. The exercise also provides an opportunity to practise land-air integration as troops will be transported to the training area by RAF Chinook helicopter from C Coy 2 Rifle’s temporary base at Santahamina Island, Helsinki.
