Description
English: this experiment uses a simple condenser with 2 silicone tubing attached, with a round bottom flask with a low powered bunsen burner for controlled heating of the reaction mixture of propan-1-ol and acidified potassium dichromate solution. the colour changes from orange to green and the gases produced is then rapidly cooled by an ice bath and the newly formed products are condensed and collected within a test tube of 180mm in length, 20 mm in diameter. the product is colourless and clear, transparent liquid with a pungent smell, and is able to turn potassium permanganate solution from purple to colourless. - by Master Revali
