Title
English: Exterior of Jefferson Park golf club shelter, February 1920
Description
English:

Jefferson Park is a 52.4 acres public park in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood. Originally intended by the state as the site of the University of Washington, in 1898 the land was sold to the city of Seattle, and has been known as Jefferson Park since 1908. In addition to other attractions, the park contains an 18-hole Championship golf course which opened in 1915. One of three municipal golf courses in Seattle, Jefferson Park is maintained by the City of Seattle and is the home course of golfing great Fred Couples. This image features the golf club shelter shortly after it was rebuilt following a fire, reopening in time for the Washington's Birthday tournament beginning on February 21. The 3-day tournament hosted 57 participants, as well as eighteen couples who took part in the mixed foursomes competition.
