Description
English: Exwick Flood Channel A class 46 approaches Exeter St.Davids with a Midlands bound express. In the foreground is the flood channel built between 1964 and 1977 as a defence against a repeat of the 1960 floods. For more information go to http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/EM/exeter_floods.html . The train has just passed a semaphore signal, behind which can be seen a modern colour light signal. This photo was taken during the last few weeks of semaphore signalling on the route.
