The California Air National Guard flew F-4Es only for a short period of time after the F-4Cs left in 1987 and the RF-4Cs arrived in 1990. 69-0291 is seen on the ramp of 196th TFS at March AFB in January 1988. 69-0291 was used to shoot down a MiG-21 with an AIM-7 Sparrow on 19 August 1972. Crew: Capt S.E. White and Capt F.E. Bettine (366th TFW). Preserved at the gate of Osan AFB (South Korea). |
