Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F4F-3A Wildcat (BuNo 3917) from Fighting Squadron 6 (VF-6) on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) after the Marshall Islands raid on 1 Feburary 1942. The aircraft had been flown in combat by Ens. T.C. Provost. Note that the national insignias on the wings and the red/white identification stripes on the rudder (used for a short time in early 1942) have been covered.
