Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F7F-3N Tigercat in flight carrying a Mark 13 torpedo that incorporates "box" fins on the tail. Made of plywood, they stabilized the torpedo when it hit the water and broke away when the torpedo entered the water. The nose of the torpedo normally featured a plywood casing as well.
