VF-123 was assigned to Air Task Group 2 (ATG-2) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea (CVA-47) for a deployment to the Western Pacific from 1 April to 23 November 1955. VF-123 was redesignated VF-53 in 1958 and VF-143 Pukin Dogs in 1962. |
