Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F9F-5 Panther of Fighter Squadron 64 (VF-64) "Free Lancers" after a barrier landing aboard the the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVA-9). VF-64 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 2 (CVG-2) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVA-9) for a deployment to the Western Pacific from 3 November 1954 to 21 June 1955.
