English: Mercedes-Benz Travego L O 580-17 RHD coach (reg. probably LE-FC 11) in Germany. FC Energie Cottbus football club team coach. LEO-Reisen from Cottbus operator. I have to thank flickr member stilo95hp for allowing me to show this photo which didn't quite fit in with his narrow field of DDR remains and Ostalgie, even though this team existed in the DDR from 1963 onwards. And Energie continues to prosper with a good number seasons in the Bundesliga first division of the united Germany..
The full details of the actual team's bus are on this page -....22 Feb 2008 www.fcenergie.de/news/home.php?ID=3760 The owner of the bus company is an now an Ehrenburger of Cottbus. It was founded in 1948 by Felix Niedergesaess www.cottbus.de/buerger/politik/ehrenchronik/index.html The rather difficult to find website of the firm features a pic of three Ikarus buses from DDR times but not much comment on running a business then (although some ex-DDR coach companies do) See here... www.leoreisen.de/LEO_Reisen/index.php |
