Deutsch: Frankfurt am Main, Bundesland Hessen, Deutschland: Der Sommerhoffpark im Stadtteil Frankfurt-Gutleut wurde im frühen 19. Jahrhundert als Englischer Landschaftsgarten eines privaten Herrensitzes des Frankfurter Bankiers und Weinhändlers Johann Noe Gogel angelegt. Architekt der Villa / Gut Gogel war Nicolas Alexandre Salins de Montfort (* 1753 Versailles; † 1838 Nantes). Im Jahr 1883 wechselte das Anwesen den Besitzer; dessen Nachname Sommerhoff blieb als Bezeichnung für den Park erhalten. Seit 1928 ist das Gelände im Besitz der Stadt Frankfurt; von den Bauten des Gogelschen Herrensitzes sind durch Fliegerbomben des Zweiten Weltkriegs lediglich größere Teile der Umrandungsmauern des Grundstücks aus rotem Buntsandstein sowie Teile von deren schmiedeeisernen Zäunen erhalten geblieben. Das Foto zeigt die westliche Stützmauer der östlichen Terrasse mit Wurzelbewuchs. |
