English: Spat boxes, lowered from the raft at Monomoy Point, after having been down for the summer. Notice the quantity of barnacles and silver shells (Anomia) which have collected on the outside. Inside, these boxes heavy sets of clams and quahaugs were obtained, while on the outside were found numbers of young scallops, which were removed before the photograph was taken
