Las Fuerzas Armadas conmemoraron el 34 aniversario de las operaciones militares en la Cordillera del Cóndor, para rendir homenaje a los soldados que lucharon en defensa de la integridad territorial del Perú.

La ceremonia, presidida por el Jefe del Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas, Almirante Jorge Moscoso Flores, se realizó en la Plaza Bolognesi del Cuartel General del Ejército, y participaron autoridades militares quienes conmemoraron el valor de las tropas peruanas durante el conflicto con Ecuador.

El 22 de enero de 1981, nuestras Fuerzas Armadas actuaron frente a una infiltración ecuatoriana en la zona de la Cordillera del Cóndor, detectada por la Aviación del Ejército. Días después, en una operación militar impecable se desalojaron seis puestos de vigilancia ecuatorianos instalados en territorio peruano.
