| Description |
This small relief, now badly worn and difficult to photograph, seems to depict the Greco-Roman sun god Helios. Some have suggested instead that it is a lion"s head. In any case, this is the one piece of figurative art to survive in the 4th-5th century synagogue at Capernaum. |
