Description
Nederlands: Taal is sociaal

Dat beheersing van de Nederlandse taal heel belangrijk is voor je kansen op school, dat weten we. Dat is ook één van de redenen dat kinderen, zeker als er thuis geen Nederlands gesproken wordt, gestimuleerd worden om naar de kinderopvang te gaan. Door te spelen met leeftijdsgenootjes maken ze alvast kennis met de Nederlandse taal. Maar hoe goed werkt dat in de praktijk? En kan het misschien nog beter, met de juiste begeleiding? Dat is wat Anne-Mieke Thieme onderzoekt. Ze reist kris kras door Nederland om meertalige spelende kinderen te observeren op de opvang. Om zo uiteindelijk nog beter te begrijpen hoe we kunnen zorgen dat ieder kind gelijke kansen heeft in het onderwijs.
