editDescriptionFairchild UC-123K Patches 1971.JPEG | A U.S. Air Force Fairchild UC-123K Provider aircraft (s/n 56-4362, c/n 20246) of the 315th Tactical Airlift Wing at Phan Rang Air Base, South Vietnam, on 1 January 1971. The aircraft, being inactivated, was named "Patches" for the more than 1,000 hit-hole patches that it received during the Vietnam conflict. The 34 UC-123Ks were C-123Ks converted for Ranch Hand defoliation missions. The C-123 56-4362 is today preserved at the National Museum of the USAF at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio (USA). |
