Italiano: "L'Olsen propose di identificare il ritratto con quello, ricordato dalle fonti, di Lavinia della Rovere sorella del Duca andata sposa nel 1583 ad Alfonso Felice d'Avalos, marchese del Vasto. Per l' affinità con la 'Madonna del gatto' (Londra, National Gallery) propose la datazione 1570-75. In base al disegno di Monaco, Graphische Sammlung (n. 13759v) invece, Emiliani propende per una datazione piu' avanzata ritenendo il dipinto connesso con le trattative di matrimonio fra Lavinia e Alfonso d'Avalos" [1]
