Mein geliebtes Muttl!
Vom tiefsten freudigen Herzen grüße ich Dich heute. Den weiß ich doch daß Dich was ich Dir zu berichten habe sehr freuen und eine große Sorge vom Herzen fallen wird. Ich bin nun endgültig und fest bei den Nachrichtenlehrgang! Schrieb Dir ja schon vor her davon da war es aber noch nicht ganz sicher. Gestern hatten wir eine Eignungsprüfung mit Lebenslauf, Diktat geschichtl u. polit. Fragen Heute bekam ich mein Bescheid daß ich diese bestanden habe. Nun höre und staune der Lehrgang dauert bis 10. VI. 44! Also ein viertel Jahr! Ich könnte mit Dir einen Luftsprung machen ist es doch eine schöne lange Zeit in der Heimat und im Sicheren. Habe mich dazu wie Du weißt freiwillig gemeldet. Ich hätte mich aber auch zu einen Schuster, Schneider oder Feldkochlehrgang gemeldet wäre mir egal gewesen. Hatte Dir doch versprochen alles zu versuchen was nur möglich. Diesmal hatte ich, unberufen, etwas „Schwein“. Bin nun hier in der Schloßkaserne und am Montag geht die Geschichte los. jedenfalls ist es viel interessanter als der sture Infantriedienst auch viel leichter und schöner.
Morgen ist Heldengedenktag und es jährt sich zum zweiten male der Todestag unseres lieben Papa. Du wirst bestimmt bei ihm sein mit ihm im Geiste sprechen und beten. Du wirst auch für mich sprechen und ihm meine Grüße sagen.
