Female urinal, England, 1918-1929
Description

Urinals and bedpans are standard pieces of equipment used in hospitals by patients who are unable to move from their beds to go to the toilet. While many can be used by either men or women, some are specifically designed for use by one sex only. This bottle-shaped female urinal is made from glazed white earthenware and was produced by S. Maw Son & Sons Ltd, once a leading manufacturer and supplier of medical items.
