English: Fenland fields north of Hill Farm Manor Farm can be seen in the far distance. Distances can be very deceiving in the flat fenland: on walking towards an object one soon discovers that what appears to be fairly close is actually quite some distance away. It is about one mile from here to Manor Farm, as the crow flies. A cereal crop is growing in the huge field seen in the foreground. This view was taken from a farm track that zig-zags around fields in the fenland north of Hill Farm and is shared by several farmers. This grid square contains not a single building, not even a small shed. |
