Français : Louvre - Salle A de l'art de l'Islam - vitrine 25A - Fer de hache de derviche - Coran, sourate 61, verset 13 - fin du 15e - début du 16e siècle - Turquie (?) - Alliage de fer damasquiné -Inventaire : AD 3214 (et non 2214 comme indiqué dans le titre).


Sur la tête du manche se trouve le nom du propriétaire de la hache, un derviche nommé al-Sayyid (descendant du Prophète) al-Hajj (le pèlerin) ‘Abbas-i Qudsi. La hache faisait partie de l’attirail à la fois utilitaire et symbolique des derviches. La lame porte, sur un côté, un verset du Coran et, sur l’autre, la profession de foi musulmane (shahada) suivie de vers en turc, à connotation mystique, nommant l’objet (copie depuis http://cartelfr.louvre.fr/cartelfr/visite?srv=car_not_frame&idNotice=33534).
