English: Feral goats the woodland's greatest enemy There has been a population explosion of feral goats in north Snowdonia in recent years. Goats damage woodlands in that they eat young saplings and strip trees of their bark. Today, I must have encountered two score or more feral goats both in Coed Chwaral and in Dinorwig Quarry. Later, at Pentre Castell, on the southern outskirts of Llanberis. I witnessed four or five feral goats stripping a domestic garden of anything and everything growing in it. |
