Fethiye Rock graves Tomb of Amyntas door

Summary edit

Description
English: The Wikipedia has the explanation of the name under which this particular Lycian tomb is known: "inscription on the side [...] reads "Amyntou tou Ermagiou", which translated to English means "Amyntas, son of Hermagios".

Though being Lycian it has Greek influences. It has two antes with Ionian columns, on top of which a fronton is placed. Before the actual grave chamber there is a narthex-like space. The round wooden ornamental elements carrying the roof in Lycian grave architecture have been exchanged for a teethed cornice. Its doors are the most ancient and best preserved in Greek history.

Some vandal decided this was the best place to express his love.
