| Description |
English: Field Pond Still functioning as was originally intended to provide drinking water for livestock. It is so easy to forget that the comfort of mains water is a 20th century development especially in rural areas where before ponds, wells, streams and roof water was the only supply. The irony now is that cattle must be fenced out of rivers and streams because of contamination and bank erosion. An overhead view from Google earth or similar will show there is water in the pond. |
