English: Field at Stair Normally the scene of grazing sheep, competitors in the annual Anniversary Waltz Fell Race set off from Stair in the Newlands valley. The race is 11.5 miles long with 3,600' of climb and visits checkpoints at Robinson, Hindscarf, Dale Head, Maiden Moor and Catbells. The winner takes around 90 minutes. In the middle distance is Causey Pike. |
