Description
English: Captain Francis Hodgson was the eldest son of Helen Fulton (formerly Dodgson), of The Close, Salisbury. He was an officer in the 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action on 10 July 1916, aged 27 at Contalmaison in the Battle of the Somme.
He is buried at Serre Road Cemetery No 2, France. Although buried at Serre he has a private memorial beside a field track to the west of Contalmaison.
