Description Insignia of the U.S. Navy Fighter Squadron 821 (VF-821) "Kingpins", in 1952. VF-821 was a U.S. Naval Air Reserve squadron that was mobilized on 20 July 1950. It became a regular squadron on 4 February 1953 and was redesignated VF-143. The squadron was decommissioned on 1 April 1958.
