Description
English: This silver belt clasp, two parts, with pressed 2 repeated mock Egyptian frieze designs, of a cloth weaver and a man presenting food to a man of higher standing possibly a pharoah given the rod/staff he holds. The clasp is set with glass imitating turquoises. It was made circa 1900-10 during the time of the fashion craze called Egyptomania was starting to emerge.(Due to the amount of archaelogical activity in Egypt, the iconography and art of Ancient Egypt started inspiring jewellers who tapped into the public's growing interest in Ancient Egypt)
