| Description |
English: Site of former Finmere station, 1991. View NE on A4421 (Oxford - Buckingham) road, towards Finmere village. The bridge carried the ex-GCR London Extension line, closed 5/9/66: to left Woodford Halse, Leicester etc., to right Princes Risborough/Aylesbury and London Marylebone. The station had been on the left and was closed to passengers 4/3/63, to goods 5/10/64. (Cf. SP6231 : A4421 heading into Newton Purcell). (The bridge is still there and the formation of the London Extension could have been redeveloped for High-Speed 2). |
